Who are we ?

The origins of PROTECTA date back to the early twentieth century in Austria, where the company under the name and trademark “GUSSOLIT” started the manufacture and distribution of materials for electric and autogenous welding. This field of work was later enriched with a product line based on epoxy resins used on repair and joint techniques (chemical welding).

In the early 1950s, the founder’s son relocated the GUSSOLIT firm to Germany and opened branches in Italy, France, South America and also established a presence in Barcelona, appointing representatives throughout Spain. In the early 1970s, the company, now PROTECTA, adapted to market needs and, with the support of the parent company in Germany, developed products and application techniques for the protection, repair and rehabilitation of all types of industrial floors, new and old.

Why Protecta is different

Protecta is the only company specialising in industrial flooring in Spain that manufactures its own product. This allows us to adjust the chemical formulation of each system — thickness, mechanical resistance, colour, anti-slip properties, specific chemical resistance — to the real conditions of each installation, without relying on third-party catalogues.

While most installers buy the material from a manufacturer and apply it according to a technical data sheet, Protecta designs the product and applies it. This makes a real difference in durability, warranty and the ability to solve non-standard problems.

Over 50 years of experience in industrial flooring

Protecta has been installing and repairing industrial floors in Spain for over 50 years. In that time we have worked with companies across all sectors: manufacturing industry, logistics and distribution, automotive, food industry, pharmaceutical, chemical, retail and car parks.

This track record has allowed us to accumulate technical expertise that cannot be improvised: we know the common failures of industrial floors, we can diagnose their causes and we apply the most appropriate solution, not the most generic one.

Own technical team

All Protecta work is carried out by the company’s own technicians, trained internally and with years of experience in industrial flooring installation and repair. We do not subcontract execution. This guarantees:

• Fast response to incidents or reviews
• A single responsible contact from start to finish

Service throughout Spain in one weekend

Our teams travel to any province in Spain. The working methodology is designed to minimise the impact on the client’s activity: we start on Friday at 8:00 PM and hand over on Monday at 8:00 AM. In most cases, the complete installation is carried out in 60 hours without interrupting production.
